Silvana Peres could have been just a fado singer, but music insists on arising from all sources for her. It is movement, a fusion of styles and genres, but always with the soul of fado.
In 2017, Silvana Peres released her first album "Fado no Pé," which was considered by Blitz Magazine as one of the top ten World Music albums released in Portugal. Over the next three years, Silvana brought "Fado no Pé" and all its Lusophone nuances to multiple national and international stages.
In 2022, Silvana Peres unleashed a creative boldness that is increasingly present and evident in her music. She presented "Água Nova," a new album in which she takes even more risks by assuming authorship of some original songs. She collaborated with recognized composers and authors such as Dino d'Santiago, Paulo Abreu Lima, Raquel Tavares, Sebastião Antunes, Jonas Lopes, Beatriz Pessoa, Carlos Leitão, among others.
The focus of the new album is on music always sung in the Portuguese language and transcends any barriers and prejudices, by bringing together in a very elegant and multicultural lineup genres such as fado, cante, canção ligeira, marchas populares, folklore, samba, morna, chorinho, and funaná.
With "Água Nova," Silvana Peres reveals her most personal and sensitive side to the public, where music resides unapologetically and above any labels. It encompasses every color one wishes to paint it with, with rhythm, feeling, dance, and everything that is important for the "journey."
Since 2022, Silvana has been a resident member of the renowned "Clube de Fado" in Alfama, Lisbon.
